First up, I'm not condoning drug smuggling here.

Sadly the sentence has just been handed down.

Some may be aware, this event has had heavy media attention over the last couple of months in Australia and Indonesia.

Whether she is innocent or guilty, I feel for her. Her nightmare has just begun.

All sympathy to her friends and relatives.

The thing that baffles me is that the street value of that amount over there is less than what you would pay for it here ! So it just dosn't make too much sense. But like always, there's always more to the story, maybe we'll never know the truth :-\

I don't want you think that I am heartless in my assesment of this girl. But in the early eighties I helped moderate a drug support group for young kids and I have just seen to many childrens lives totally destroyed because of drugs and it hardened me against people involved with drugs,I just can't help it anymore.

However, when a person makes a decision to " play with fire " they MUST realize the consequences that may result from making said decision beforehand !! :'(

I totally understand you there BigC, and rightly so. It is a tough issue with a wide scope and a line does need to be drawn in the sand. This country has a hardline on importing and it's largely known over here. She seems so smart and intelligent, I just find it hard to see any guilt really.

It's still a very heavy price to pay when you consider other crimes likle HayC mentioned.
