Why? It looked perfect for me...
A nifty option: coul be that advanced users place manually custom registry keys to be deleted, say in a text file? That would help whilst waiting for program updates.....

Oh yes please.

I am lost. What does Oh yes please do with anything??
Anyways, it hasnt been updated for a year...but that doesn't mean it's dead (although I am suspicious). I mean, SpywareGuard's definitions are a year old, but it is configured in a way that it hardly needs updating.

If you think spywareguard is still useful I have some real estate on Mars that i want to sell you.... (And Yes, I'm familar with the excuse about heuristics...)
That's besides the point.
The thing about MRUblaster is that it can only clear mrus of programs that it "knows" (hardcoded registry keys to clean). . MRUblaster would not be able to clear mrus of Newer applications or less commonly, newer versions of existing programs that change between versions.

That's why I thought about the user feed; Apart from well known apps and they'r MRUs, any user could let the Blaster remove user defined MRUs, without bothering anymore the author.
.ini file? Come on!

Brief OT concerning SpywareGuard in the wrong Forum:
-{ Quote: "If you think spywareguard is still useful I have some real estate on Mars that i want to sell you" }-Would you Please share with us what proof you have found that causes you to have that opinion :-\
I'll agree that the "current real-time protection built into SpywareGuard 2.2 has been extended about as much as is possible"....but it still offers secure protection for most variants of what's found in it's database. However....it doesn't offer protection for "completely new spyware/adware programs"

The suggestion regarding custom MRU lists is a good one. That's something I've had on the to-do list for a while. :)
I also have some other exciting tweaks and features planned (some of which are partially implemented) but, as always, time is the issue. So while I can't promise I'll get to fully implementing those new features immediately, I will try my best to get to them soon. 8)
(I may release an interim database update, but that would obviously delay those future new features, etc. a little bit.)
EDIT: And, in case it wasn't entirely obvious from my post above, the product is not dead. ;) No need to worry!
Best regards,
-Javacool

Notice javacool is careful to talk about "the product" , not "the productS".

There are products (free even) that actually do that already. Though I prefer to do it with MRUblaster if possible compared to messing with a few.

Some update will be great - MRU Blaster does one weird thing for some time now - I run it, it deletes all the items, says "System status: Good" and when I close it, open it again and run a scan, there is 10 items found? I delete them, close, open - those items are still there? And all of them "are" in the Recent folder ... it start to show 4 "undeletable" items - when deleted, MRU Blaster showed them after IMMEDIATE next scan, then 7 items and now 10 items - all in the Recent, although it is right after the scan and deleting, so nothing should be here... weird :-/

I too have noted quirky behavior from MRU Blaster. I only run it from a logoff script and it used to effectively delete all the mrus but it now fails about half the time.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll see if I can reproduce those issues.

Hi there, Mr. Javacool, nice to hear from you.
Do you think we could expect manual hives entry in a text file, as a feed for MRU Blaster in the future?
