I have been running Spyware Blaster 3.3 happily until I was told a new version was out and I no longer was able to get updates for 3.3. That's whent he trouble started. I uninstalled 3.3 and downloaded 3.4, but kept having problems with it hanging my PC, so I had to reboot. Then, the uninstall of the new 3.4 wouldn't uninstall, so I manually went to the folder to delete what was there. I tried the download again from another site, and I can't get it to run. It says there's something corrupt. Can you help me. Is there a number I can call for support. I NEED this program as I've noticed more unwanted files since I stupidly uninstalled 3.3 before I knew 3.4 was buggy. Help.
My email address ****@yahoo.com if anyone can tell me who to contact for help to get a good install of ver 3.4.

Is this your error message?
http://www.javacoolsoftware.info/kb/idx/7/007/article/
If it is then follow the instructions on the site. If it doesnt then do the following:
1. Open SpywareBlaster and select "Disable All Protection"
2. Close SpywareBlaster (and the AutoUpdate Configuration program, if open)
3. Open Add/Remove programs (click on "Start" in the lower left corner of your screen, then on "Control Panel", and finally on 'Add/Remove Programs")
4. Search for the SpywareBlaster entry and uninstall/remove it
5. Reboot
After you have followed these steps download a new copy of SpywareBlaster 3.4 (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html)

Snowboard - Thank you for responding to my last post. I have done all the steps you mentioned.
Can you tell me how to manually download the definition (update) file. I think my Norton (Symantec) internet Security is stopping Spywareware from connecting to the internet when I try to use the update button. It asks for permission and I always set it to auto or always permit. Then my PC hangs and I have to do a hard reboot. Ctrl-Alt-Del shows the program running, but not responding and it won't let me end task. I'm so frustrated!!!! I never had these issues when I downloaded ver 3.3. I've tried to contact Lavasoft support and am just getting the same old run around -- I think there's a bug in this new version or they are trying to force people to buy the product for autoupdates.

IF THE MANUAL DOWNLOAD ISNT WORKING BELOW THEN, EXIT OUT OF NORTON THEN TRY.
Download the following five files and overwrite the ones currently in your SpywareBlaster directory (C:\Program Files\SpywareBlaster by default):

http://www.spywareblaster.net/spywa...sbdatabase2.dtb
