Thanks <-QUOTE}Cooler is better, always, within the constraint that you never want to go below condensing conditions - so you never really want to go below ambient unless your room air is actively dried. See here (http://www.heatsink-guide.com/content.php?content=maxtemp.shtml) and here (http://support.intel.com/support/processors/pentium4/sb/CS-007999.htm). You're likely on the edge given typical sensor accuracy and precision.

45c-50c is the sweet spot for most CPUs, Pentium or AMD.

Hi BlueZannetti
Quoted from the 2nd link given
{QUOTE-> Systems based on Pentium 4 processors 2.80 GHz (and below) should have a maximum expected temperature of 40°C in the maximum expected external ambient (which is typically 35°C). Systems based on Pentium 4 processors 3 GHz (and above) should have a maximum expected temperature of 38°C in the maximum expected external ambient (which is typically 35°C <-QUOTE}
It seems the higher the processor speed the lower the maximum temp should be. I thought the other way round. coz mine is in a well ventilated area and it hot by its nature (factory) its 100% clean of dust and I work with CPU side door removed for extra cooling yet its hot and it shoots to 80C when kids play games like Need For Speed2. What is wrong! how cool is your processor for ex.
