Both the free and 'pay' versions of X-Cleaner have been updated.
Freeware version here: http://www.xblock.com/download-freeware.shtml
Full version here: http://www.xblock.com/register
If you already own a copy, here: http://www.xblock.com/members.shtml
Part of the email they sent with the update notice:
+++ X-Cleaner Rises to the Challenge +++
"Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards,
*for they are subtle and quick to anger."
*-- J.R.R. Tolkien
We received a report that a spyware vendor was publicly claiming
on his site:
"No AntiSpy software will ever detect spy software that uses random
file names, as they don't know what to look for! Cyber Informer is
only software on the market that can not be detected by Xblock anti
spy software."
After reading that, our programming staff rose to the challenge to quickly
write the appropriate detection and removal code for this spyware. *
To top it of, X-Cleaner now also determines the
password that was used to install this spyware, so that victims can
see the email address to which the spyware mails the logs of information
gathered by spying."
Enjoy! Pete
