Best KAV clone with no ADS?

Hi,

What would be the best AV that has KAV's engine but doesn't have their Alternate Data Streams?

Use Kaspersky personal (5.0.227).

During install, you can remove a checkmark on one of the screens, called something like "Operate on recommended settings".

Then you get another setup-screen, offering the possibility to disable the use of ADS (and network protection module -> this is recommended to disable if you are using a firewall (like Zonalarm, Norton etc.)). :)

Best KAV clone - GDATA AVK 2005 Double engine (uses BitDefender+Kaspersky engines) :P:D

f-secure is another good kav clone that has three engines.

Another vote for GData AVK, In my experiences it is lighter than F-Secure

I went for KAV 4.5. Same database and detection engine as 5.0. No ADS. It's possible to upgrade to either Personal MP3 (which adds lots of good features to 5.0) or 6.0 in the future with the same license. I wouldn't get MP3 until it was as stable as 4.5. You can get 4.5 Personal from ICE Systems (at least this is what they published on their forum).
