Hi,I saw some people talking about Phantom's rule set for firewalls.Where can I get these and how do I use them with outpost.Any info would be helpful as I know nothing really about outpost. Also if anyone could show me a link or explane if there is anything eles I need to set up.There is a message that pops up saying a program has changed and what should outlook do.I get a lot of these,is there a way to stop this or make it not happen so much.Right now my outpost system tray icon looks like a blue ball with a white question mark.

thanks

there is no preconfigured rule set for outpost, but check out paranoid's Outpost 2.5 - what to expect (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11836) and A Guide to Producing a Secure Configuration for Outpost (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9858). most of what you need to know can be found in these two threads. i personally go back to them all the time.

i use outpost pro and configured it following
Paranoids advice found in outpost user forum

http://outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9858

the blue with the white question mark just means
your using the rules wizard policy for outpost

The Secure Configuration Guide is aimed at advanced users so I would hesitate to recommend it to someone new to Outpost. Instead check out the Outpost PDF documentation on Agnitum's download page (http://www.agnitum.com/download/outpostpro.html) and the Web Hiker's Guide to Outpost Firewall (www.outpostfirewall.com/guide/) for a more gentle introduction (while the Web-Hiker's guide addresses Outpost 1.0, much of it applies to 2.x also).

good point Paranoid, i started with hitchhikers guide
kept the pdf as a reference, and than moved over
to the secure configuration set up, took me about
six weeks to figure all the ins and outs of opp, and
i am very pleased with this firewall, and i think the
key here is to read all of the available information
and take your time doing it so that way you can
really customize opp to meet your individual needs.
