Hi,

I want to learn whether Nod32 scans all inbound and outbound SMTP, HTTP, and FTP traffic or not...it is one of the most critical information entry point, and a solution without it must be uncomplete.

NOD32 scans incoming e-mails, however, that's mostly done to make it easier for users. All other entrypoints should be guarded by Amon, or the equivalent memory resident protection from other vendors.

hi,

you know all other antivirus vendors have firewall and proxy module in their enterprise antivirus products..nod 32 did not mention such modules this is why you will release this module in future or there is no need for nod 32 such modules because amon is doing it totaly.. ???

thanx in advance..

So Jan, are you saying future versions may include a firewall?

Hi Tinribs,

>So Jan, are you saying future versions may include a firewall?

It's possible, but please don't ask me when :)

(We have enough to "play with" the new version of NOD now)

All the best,

jan

As for myself, I do not want a Swiss Army Knife program. I want a separate antivirus program and firewall program. It is far better for security reasons I believe and I despise bloatware, the all singing and dancing approach of Symantec.

Count me out for an integrated antivirus/firewall/etc program.

I have to agree, I like Nod32 just the way it is.
Count me out for a firewall too

Gents,

Don't worry. Apart from the fact, NOD32 as an antivirus is the major focus, I'm pretty sure in case a firewall becomes part of the package, it's up to the software user wether to install that part or not.

They could pack it like McAfee does, it includes a firewall but the user has a choice whether to install the firewall or not, I chose not to. The AVP installed and works just fine.
