Prior to installing .NET Framework v 1.1, booting sequence went from the WinXP splash screen, to the Welcome sceen and then finishing with the desktop...ready to go.
Now, with .NET Framework, I get a split Welcome screen with having to click on my name on the right side and wait for it to "load your personal settings" before it goes to the desktop.
An option in user accounts allows unchecking the Welcome screen but then you have to type in your password. (Mine is blank, being I'm the only one using this PC.)
On shutting down, before installing .NET Framework, the choice was Shutdown, Restart or Cancel. Now there's a drop down list.
Can't seem to find how to have .NET Framework on board and still have login/logoff the way it was.
Paint.NET requires .NET Framework 1.1 to be installed.
Using WinXPSP2
