View Full Version : Need to check integrity of full backup?

I just made my first full image backup with TI and am a bit uneasy. I only see instructions for verifying the integrity of backups before restoring. How do I know that the full image isn't corrupt? Should I check the integrity of the backup when completed or just accept the message that the backup was "successful"?
Thanks,

Hello! Welcome to TI! :-)
"Successfull" means, that TI had no error encounted when creating the backup. Normally everything should be fine. But under certain conditions (hardware issues) there could be errors of which TI does not know.
To be totally sure, i would suggest doing a verification of the new image.
I do this also using the recovery cd because in case of damaged hard disk you have to do this too. If the verification works with no errors when using the boot-cd, everything is fine and you have peace of mind!!! 8)
