SpyGuard Control Panel Startup

Hi

I believe you don't need the control panel open to be protected as long
as you have enabled protection? Correct?

If so do you need to have the control panel start with windows to start
protection or can you just trigger the spywareguard.dll which is what I think
does the protecting?

Yeah, once the guard is enabled, you don't need the control panel open in order to be protected by javacool's nifty piece of software ;)

This is a direct quote from Javacool (SWG's author): "The systray icon is just the control panel - if you have protection enabled, it will still be protecting your system if you close the control panel (although it is highly recommended that you keep the control panel running unless you desperately need the memory). "

Yeah I know you don't need it open for it to work, I was just thinking you might need it to initialize it on windows startup though. I assume you don't as I don't have the control panel booting at startup but I cannot delete the .dll file so protection must be running. May I ask why you keep it in the system tray? Whats the point?

The Control Panel helps prevent malicious programs from disabling SpywareGuard's protection. Thus, it is recommended, but not necessary.
