Hi,

Every time that I scan my PC using Spybot Search & Distroy ver.: 1.3 it reports a problem in reference to the following:

MagicControl.Agent
User settings (Registry key, fixed)
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1275210071-343818398-682003330-1006\Software\LanConfig

It fixed the above, but if I run it again, It still report the same problem.

Please how can I remove this malicious application from my PC?

Hello alrodripi,

Two things to try:

First run SSD in safe mode - the malware is active in normal mode.

Another: http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/grayware/graywareDetails.asp?SNAME=ADW_SLAGENT.A

Hi there,
have a look at this link to Trendmicro

www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/ default5.asp?VName=ADW_SLAGENT.A

There is usefull info on its removal.
You should be aware that it is unlikely that this is the only infection that you have picked up, www.doxdesk.com have details on the variants and what else usually is bundled in with it when you are infected.

Let us know how you get on.

Hello Jack,

You have a broken link, I assume you wanted to link to the Trendmicro page that I did in my post.

SSD has had this crapware in it's DB since March 2004 http://www.safer-networking.org/en/updatehistory/2004-03-04.html under "malware" so I would be supprised if running SSD in safe mode doesn't fix it. But if not, there is the safe removal at Trendmicro.

Thanks Charles, i should have previewed the post. My point to the OP was to check carefully as to what else the trojan had allowed to be installed and not to assume that he only had 1 infection.
