Why is it that outpost only sometimes reports my ports are being scanned when i go onto GRC. Sometimes i will get the pop-up warning and sometimes nothing? its no big deal, im just wandering...

thanks,

Simon.

Probably (possibly?) because you have the option turned on which blocks the "attacker's" IP for 10 minutes or whatever. You'll see it the first time you do a scan, but subsequent scans within 5-10 minutes will automatically be blocked and so you won't see the popup.

Not sure, but that might be it...

That would be the Attack Detection plugin - when doing scans it is recommended to disable this feature (since a blocked scan wouldn't tell you very much) and place Outpost in Block Most policy (to avoid having to answer dozens of popups for incoming traffic). Please see the Outpost forum FAQ Online Scans - What to do with Open and Closed Ports (http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9992) for more details.
