Remember - this is CHINA. All the man was probably doing was helping people get around the Great Firewall of China. Google even (shamefully) bowed to Red Chinese pressure and offers a "cleansed" Google to China. Meaning, all sites that don't positively reflect on the totalitarian government of China are not included in any Google search. Money talks. Bottom line is I wouldn't trust a word "Chinese authorities" say about anything regarding so-called "hackers."

Possibly, but you would be insane not to recognise also that China is also a hotbed of cybercrime is elite hackers.

Yeah....I guess they would be considering you have to hack your way into simply reading a western news report. China worrying about hackers? Don't bet on it - unless it threatened their total control over Internet access in China. They have some serious penalties for the "crime" of getting around their censorship too. Not long ago a man got 5 years in prison for building a simple "home page" website, using GeoCities, with links to (GASP!) the BBC and MSNBC (usa news site).
