View Full Version : How do you put a folder IN PGPDisk?

Okay, using PGP 8.0 (paid version), I've created a PGPDisk (NTFS format on a drive letter).
Now, how in the world do I get a pre-exisiting folder that's on "C" in there?
Also, when I go to PGPtray, right-click it and select "PGPdisk" and "mount disk" and put in my passphrase - nothing's happening - at least that I can see. (I did not select "Mount disk at start-up when creating the disk - does that matter?
Is it supposed to be opening a window or something? Or asking me for further instructions?
Just a touch lost here - is there a tutorial specifically for PGP disks I can read somewhere? Pete

Thank you, MayBe.
(I was hoping for some dialogue in response to my questions, though, as well as remarks/suggestions about how I had set up the PGPdisk itself). Pete

Hi Pete,
First of all, I am glad you did not check the "mount on startup" that is very insecure if you don't have a boot authorization program to go with that feature.
Your problem is one I haven't seen with PGPDisk 8.0. You should be able to mount the container with your passphrase and it show up as a drive in Windows Explorer/My Computer. Placing folders in the PGPDisk should be as simple as dragging the folder to the PGP "drive"....dismount the container....and it should disappear from Explorer/My Computer.
Have you tried creating another container - or just the one?

One other thing, Pete.
Some of the best support from PGP is in the alt.security.pgp newsgroup. I don't know if you "do" the newsgroup thing, but if you don't want to use a reader, and don't want to use OE, just browse to Google's Newsgroups for easy access to alt.security.pgp:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=alt.security.pgp
If you read long enough there, you might run across your problem. If not, post there. A lot of those people are real PGP fanatics and know it upside down and out.
