Microsoft's dual boot or MBR is supposedly ONLY on the Primary HD containing Win98 and to the best of my knowledge there is no MBR on the 2nd Disk with WinXP which is connected as the "Slave" HD.
If this is the case, then one should be able to use a True Image of a Partition of WinXP and restore it to the Slave HD so that you still have Microsoft Dual Boot capability since there is no MBR written with a partition copy. Can anyone confirm this is what would happen?
Furthermore, when writing a True Image partition to a drive you are asked to indicate whether or not you want to make the disk an "Active" disk which can be booted, just what does selecting "Active" do since there is no MBR being written when restoring a partition image and should this option be selected in order for the dual boot to work correctly?
