SaveNow and WeatherCast

Not sure if SaveNow and WeatherCast fall in the catergory of Spyware, but they are annoying nonetheless. SaveNow is especially sneaky and does not include an uninstaller. I've only found the Lavasoft products Ad-aware and Ad-watch to be effective in detecting and removing it. It would be nice if SpyWareGuard/Blaster would detect and/or block them.

Spybot S & D gets SaveNow. Thats the one that made me go ahead and try spybot. The previous version of AAware did not get it. Glad to hear the new version does. WeatherCast has an uninstall in the ms control panel tht works but it doesn't get save now and whenu. Both of those got installed when the weather cast installed itself on my system. They are spyware and one or both rewrite the winsock dll making surfing a problem. Originally I just deleted them both but that wasn't good enough, until I repaired the winsock I had problems. Plus finding all the keys affected in the registry was a headache. I don't know if spyware guard gets it cause I haven't got brave enough to install spyware guard yet, but in looking at the list on spywareblaster it hasn't been added yet unless I missed seeing it.

Sounds also like someone might have installed KaZaa on your machine. This is a handy little tool for complete KaZaa removal, since the uninstaller obviously doesn't get the spyware..... >:(
