Just came across this "HD wipe" utility found in Eraser. Anybody ever use it ? It comes bundled with the new Eraser.

DBAN can be found here

I imagine John (L2BS) can answer that.
I just want to say that software found at sourceforge is usually pretty reliable. ;)

Bill...Just got your PM....
Excellent program! Garrett Trant who took control of ERASER from Sami (he is still somewhat involved) added "Darik's Boot and Nuke" a very good hard disk sanitizer to ERASER with Version 5.6. DBAN is a sanitizer, it wipes as in GONE - everything on your drives. However, be VERY careful using this new tool in ERASER because it is an all-drive nuker! So, if you have more than one drive - be careful - it will be gone too. The program itself though is well-thought of. I questioned adding it to ERASER when Garrett did that because of bloating out ERASER. I personally thought he could have offered:
1) Downlaod ERASER 5.6
2) Download Eraser 5.6 with DBAN
But I understand people had been asking for it and frankly, Garrett has been wanting to put "his stamp" on ERASER which is understandable. He'll take good care of ERASER though. No doubt.
Have a good week!
