Can you set a option to auto verify a image after it has been created? And can you boot from the cd and select image a drive and auto verify the image after it has been created and just walk away? Come back and you know if the process was a success or not? I know Norton 9 has the auto verify option but don't think you can boot from the cd and do create a image.
Thanks

Hi Again,
I see a new version is out. Can you select image and verify then run it and come back and it's all done and verified yet? I know this feature is suppose to be avaliable soon .. just waiting with anticapation.

Thanks

Hello Hypermole,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

The latest build (826) of Acronis True Image have the following new features:
- Reduce your disk backup time and storage by excluding paging and hibernate files from the disk backup image;
- Manage your PC performance by changing the disk imaging process priority;
- Verify disk backup image before a restore;
- Check the file system after a restore.

Thank you.

Hi Hypermole,

I think auto verify images, is the main feature that is missing to this exceptional program.
I used to work with Drive Image that has this feature, even after Symantec acquired Powerquest.
About your question, the only way to verify the created image, is opening TI and select to verify the image.
I really would like to know when Acronis will implement this feature. ???

Best Regards,

DonKid.

That would be too simple, wouldn't it? ;D

See that a new version is out today of true image. Does it give you the option to auto verify the image after it's created yet?

Thanks

The Simple answer is the same as the old long answer, it is still NO.

Hello all,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

I'm really sorry for any inconveniences caused by the behaviour of Acronis software. In case you want us to change it in any way or to add some new features, please feel free to post your suggestions in Acronis True Image WISH-LIST thread (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=85595).

Thank you.

That just goes to show how much Acronis take notice of their existing loyal customers... this feature HAS been asked for COUNTLESS times over the last COUPLE of years.

This (along with many others) have ALL been put forward as suggestions (in the thread you have mentioned) yet TI9 seems to contain a lot of features that the vast majority of people don't want and probably won't use (except maybe the new file backup).

This is from the TI9 users guide.
Is this an "auto-verify" after the image is made?

4.3.7 Additional settings
1. Check archive
The default setting – disabled.
You can choose to check the backup data integrity. Verification will be performed immediately after the archive is created.

I have downloaded TI9 and am using it.

Apart from a few niggles introduced with the new features there appears to be a 'verify image' option.

It can be set when you create a new task under "Backup creation options" in the section "Additional settings". Just tick the box "Check archive when backup creation complete".

This appears to be performed in the log - but I'm not totally convinced it is actually happening (appears not to take enough time???).

Note you can also set this as an option for all new backup jobs in the main windows under Tools>Options.

Thanks for the information Merlin & Carol.

Given Acronis' comments, it seems they don't know their own product.

Unfortunately this is the only feature that is of any benefit to me in TI9, so I'm not going to be upgrading.

For me, not having tell it to verify the images and wasting another hour is worth the $30.
