Kav 5.0 will overall detect and clean more than mcafee 9.0

If you say 'viruses' than McAfee is *slightly* better than KAV, and if you say 'trojans and other malware' KAV is *SIGNIFICANTLY* ahead of McAfee.

For spyware, I'd recommend the following:

McAfee 9/KAV 5.0 with ext/Xbases
Spybot S&D
Ad-Aware
Also try Ewido Security Suite
And remember BitDefender Free Edition too...

By the way, do I remeber right that McAffe now also integrates Kaspersky engine? After that how can Kaspersky alone still be better?

Macafee uses its own engine, NOT one from Kaspersky.
