View Full Version : Why the difference in test results?

ICSA Labs has given AVG Pro their thumbs up for over a year. However, Virus Bulletin has failed it like 5 out of the last 6 tests or something like that.

What's going on? Why the difference? Who's right and who's wrong?

Thanks.

I know that companies have to pay to be tested by ICSA and that's why ZoneAlarm isn't listed as certified because they don't pay.

But if it's the money that's screwing with the results why does ICSA fail some programs?

Being a newbie too, I am bothered by the difference within the ICSA certification. I don't get it:

There are several products (Avast and Sophos) that fail or pass for exactly the same version, release and sig date and test date.
I guess I am missing the point here, but it seems to me that the coincidence of testing a few minutes too late results in a different score :o
