this should start some good arguments.

Ok..here goes..

blah blah blah is better than blah blah blah because....

just kidding,

Kaspersky is a great AV and so is AVG, both in their own rights (plus AVG is free)

~my 2 cents

I don't think that question is open to debate. ITS OBVIOUS.

Ianb's right. There is no choice between the two except when money matters. I can give you a list of AVs better than AVG:

Avast!
AntiVir
BitDefender
Kaspersky
Panda
Norton
McAfee
F-Secure
F-Prot
PC-cillin

and many more...

But all the antivirus programs have all released there 2005 version why does KAV have to be diffrent?

KAV has released products in 2005. I dont agree with the "one a year" policy certain companies give.

I use AVG FE with BoClean for trojan protection. Works fine for me at the moment. KAV certainly is a excellent AV offering fine overall protection near as I can tell based on research. I never have used it.

I don't like "Which AV is better" or "A is better than B" topics.

AVs appeal to different people:

Kaspersky

Pro; its detection rate.
Con; its resource usage

NOD32

Pro; its low resource usage
Con; its Trojan detection rate

As you can see, if you like detections more than memory usage, you'd pick Kaspersky. If you favour lower resource usage you'd choose NOD32.

Of course, those 2 are just used as examples in this post to prove a point.
