I am currently using WormGuard on a 30-day trial period. Everything seems to be normal so far but a recent thread here at wilders commented upon a possible drain on system resources by WormGuard.

1. Can Wormguard drain system resources? I have seen little evidence of this on my Pentium 3, 1.2GHz, 512mB memory laptop.

2. I run XP Pro without the service pack. Is WormGuard 3(&4) fully functional/ stable on XP without SP1? Due to past experiences with service packs I am relunctant to install SP1.

3. Would you recommend waiting for WormGuard 4 to appear before purchasing for a XP system?

Hi Blackcat,
WG is almost unnoticable in the background, like you can see wuing any program like TaskInfo, Wintasks, or such, and only jumping up when needed and then noticable a short moment.
Does this thread help with some of the other answers?

Try out the WG3 you have as much as possible without the SP1 and see if it's stable on your system. WG4 will only be even better. I mean: if WG3 is working ok there's no reason to wait.
