on the advice I read somewhere around here, I downloaded and set up Download expert, and deleted Download accelerator.

I can't read the buttons on Expert, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. Did I mess someting up? some of the buttons looked like

Don't know for sure as I use FlashGet, but it doesn't sound normal to me.
Is it possible that expert is only available in a paid version and you have not paid yet? Are the buttons greyed out?

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?

That's the one with the yellow arrow with DE on it, isn't it?

I have used that [uninstalled now] before. Found it did not do as good a job as DAP [IMO].

Root: it's a free one, so should be fully functional :)

Give dowload mage a try. It is user friendly and a 278kb download. Has a 30 day free trial and costs 19.95 to register. I have been using it for years.
