hi, i was just reading the latest newsletter by Scott Finnie. he talks about spyware and there's a section on MS's Antispyware, Giant and CounterSpy. CounterSpy was the company which was in partnership with Giant, remember the spyware scanner which looked just like Giant? that one :)

Good link.
However one of his recommended links steers to the discredited
"spyware review documents.
From Gooroo: http://www.adwarereport.com/mt/archives/000004.html?SOURCE=goog&KEYWORD=spyware

That is a really BAD review,

Apart from that, the usual v.v. useful info from a recognised source.

I'm sorry, but I just don't like Scot Finnie. I had some dealings with him a couple of years back and found out up close and personal how his temper is just explosive. To me, that comes out in his articles and newsletter. I read it sometimes (when he decides to publish) but am not a regular. I am a regular reader of Fred Langa. I am a PLUS subscriber and think it's the best money I spend on tech material. If you've never read Fred Langa, check him out at http://www.langa.com/ and read the current "standard" issue. You can subscribe and get two newsletters a week for free. As a PLUS subscriber, you get extra material that is usually well worth the minimal payment. He's far and away better - and more knowledgeable - than Scot Finnie.

I'm a very long time Fred Langa fan as well, well researched, and if he ever makes a mistake is the first to admit it...

Cheers ;D

i don't read newsletters that often, but when i do i tend to go from Scott to Langa to Karen and i like them all equally. Scott Finnie's site was one of the first sites i found, and went back to, when i first got my computer, and from his Links of the Month i got "The Tweaking Experience 2.0" which is one of my all time favourite programs. having said that, he does look like he as a quick temper though :o
