Why is Difficult delete or Desinfect the virus ?

Hello,

Frist my apologizes because I have bad English....

I have used some AV ( Trial Period ) and I have seen that when they detect one Virus show the alert and after gave some alternatives:

Clean
Repair
Quarantine
Delete

Many times I use Clean or Delete but think that 95% or more times show one Message:

" We could not ( Delet or Clean ) the file: ..... "

I would like to know Why and like to know if this Test is make in the Test Review AV ....How would be the best alternatives to Delete, Clean or repair Virus ?

Sometimes it can not be cleaned or deleted because it is a Trojan, and they typically inject themselves into memory, so a reboot should fix this or a scan while in safe mode will do the same thing, as described here in General Cleaning (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=50662).

It's also good to disable System Restore feature and scan your computer using bootable floppies.

Well,

Usually only viruses can be disinfected, as they only add their own code to already existing files, which can be removed.

Sometimes System Restore directory cannot be scanned because of certain file permission restrictions.

The Test Reviews either only test for detection or for disinfection of virii only.
