This posting is for those of you who are using eTrust EZAntivirus (formerly also known as InoculateIT).

The last few days (some?) people have problems to get the latest virus-definitions-update.

I'll start with 2 quotes from the following thread at DSLR:
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,5725099~root=security,1~mode=flat

Quoting Alwill:

A number of users of this program including myself, have been experiencing problems since yesterday in downloading virus signatures updates using the AutoDownload feature. Although the update number appears in the AutoDownload window a message immediately follows stating "Unspecified error in downloading update"

I post this message so that others who may also be having trouble can put their concerns to rest as it is obviously a Computer Associates server glitch. " }-

I got that message also so went to Signature Updates for eTrust EZ Antivirus
where I was able to obtain an update manually.
" }-

The link for Signature Updates for eTrust EZ Antivirus is:
http://www.my-etrust.com/products/virUpdates/Antivirus

That site says:
"Antivirus signature updates are only available to registered users, with a current subscription for eTrust EZ Antivirus, or eTrust EZ Armor".

At that site you have to fill in your Member ID and your Password.
In case you have forgotten your password, they give you the possibility to get it again.

I too had that above mentioned problem with respect to download the latest virus-definitions-update.
I can confirm that it all works with going to the above mentioned site, put there your MemberID and password. I indeed was forgotten my password, and got it by using their procedure. Then indeed you can download the latest virus-definitions-update (at the moment that is aup_2371.exe). Download it into your EZantivirus directory and run it, and all is OK.

I hope this helps.

Just for the record:
No problem here today anymore to get the latest update aup_2372.exe with the usual way by using AutoDownload.
