What is it supposed to do? I got no warning from any security program, but:

I guess our systems are 'secure' by whatever standard it employs, although no one seems to know exactly 'what' that is. I was just in the process of updating my favorites and came across the one for Robin Keir's site; it used to be the home page for BinText, which s/he(?) authored, (which is now supported on the Foundstone site), as well as some other programs including ScripTrap, which may or may not be similar to Script Sentry from Javacool.

It was my understanding that Robin Keir has been involved with internet security for a long time, so that's why I thought it would be interesting to post the link and see what members here thought. It seems legit, although puzzling as to what exactly it's supposed to check out.

well I went to it and could not test, as for starters, it gave WRONG IP ;D and no info about my browser, etc. :-\

So if I had pressed the "nuke me" bar, I would have flogged by proxy's server and i don't think they might have liked that >:( at all, LOL.

So guess I am safe enough. I have done one of those tests before where I had to put IP in and it passed though, so no probs.

I'm sure you've got all the bases covered, Taz. And if per chance you ever slipped up, I'm sure your pet tasmanian devil would make short order of that. (BTW - I think either I went to one too many Grateful Dead concerts, or else your avatar has sprouted colors!) 8)

I haven't checked the site but it's probably just the old OOB (out-of-band) port 139 attack, which from memory only affects Win95 machines - MS fixed the problem in Win98. Either that or it's the old echo trick where it tries to make your modem echo "ATH++" to get your modem to hang up (only works on some older modems).
