can anyone tell me if this is a secure set-up, or am i missing something? maybe this is an overkill?

i use windows xp home with dsl for internet, and a router with a hardware firewall. i also use the following programs:

firefox
ad-aware se
ace utilities
boclean
ccleaner
doc scrubber
nod32
spybot
spyware blaster
sygate pro

i use my computer for chatting and news mostly. i do go to the occasional porn sight, and do allot of online shopping. i like to run my computer light on resources, but is there anything i'm missing to make sure i am fully protected?

thanks in advance.

A few you may consider to add for Prevention: (process control) - SSM System Safety Monitor (Free), Process Guard (Payware)

And Proximitron - using Kye-U's filters (to block unpatched exploits)

When travelling to the darkside of the web ... disable javascript and java. ;)

Otherwise you look pretty good. ;)

Steve

Ps. Spybot (free) is also a pretty good AS scanner ... works seamlessly beside Ad-Aware SE.

Jimbob" }-ROFLMAO, nice JB, very nice ;D

What JB has pointed to gives a guide in what direction to head, it also gives two very good links to further discussion on what people use and why.

Cheers ;D
