All symptoms I feel for my poor PC.
Ok, I have Ad-Aware SE, Spybot S & D, Registry Mechanic v3.0 and 4.0, Spyware Doctor. But my PC seems "slow" and there is loads of Spyware I can't get rid of.
Please, HELP ME!!!
In other words, I want my PC to be speeded up a bit, ( no speed tweaks ) just a program that detects and gets rid of Spyware, Ad-Ware e.t.c Effectively and Safely ;)

Hi I have a routine that has served me well for cleaning Adware/Spyware etc.
1. Clean the cache's, cookies, temp files from your browser/s, also Java cache.
2. Turn off system restore.
3. Boot into safe mode, run your Anti-Spyware & Anti-Virus programs.
4. Restart in normal mode, look in ad/remove programs for suspicious/unknown programs, if you find any that seem odd, research them on the net, remove the bads ones if present.
5. Check task manager, look at the running tasks, if there are any unknown, look up at WinTasks (http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/) or another well regaurded process site.
6. If you find anything nasty, research on net to find out removal advice or post here.
7. If not already, consider using real time Anti-Spyware protection, most good Anti-Spyware programs have this as an option, IE; Spybot, Microsoft Anti-Spyware, Adaware etc. Winpatrol is also a good program, offering running task info, start up protection, cookie removal etc, there is a free version.
8. Practice safe surfing, use Internet Explorer only when necessary, Firefox an Opera are far safer alternative browsers.

Hi, you have spybot S+D already , occassionally look in tools at the Startup progs and in BHO's and Active X installed, the prog does help you with things that shouldnt be there.

Ash, you're not telling us what spyware you think you've got.
If you're looking for a quick fix application you may be unlucky, 'cos some spyware simply cannot be got rid of by an automated process. You would need to proceed to doing a HijackThis log.
Having said that, the Microsoft Anti Spyware Beta is likely to be far more effective than the others, and there are some specialist items that could be recommended if we knew what the problem was!
