If you had to use one, which sandbox program would you recommend?

Tiny Trojan Trap: http://www.tinysoftware.com/home/tiny?s=7624704724498419730A1&&pg=trap_home

Finjan SurfinGuard Pro:

Hi Wade,

IMO TTT is by far the app with the most potential - but needs a "finishing touch" - matter of time I suppose.

regards.

TTT works on XP, and Sufinguard doesn't (yet - and it's been ages waiting for them to support it).

TTT, out of the box, will cause problems (in my experience) because of its default settings. *Also, there's no real promise of support from Tiny, and their manual is too brief by far. *Having said that, I think TTT gives you fantastic control options.

SurfinGuard Pro v5.7 is XP compatible now.
I have it installed and it's doing the job.
I believe TTT is a better product if you can run it correctly.

SurfinGuard is easier to run.

Are their any independent reviews of SurfinGuard around?
I really want to use a Sandbox program, I think it’s important.

I really can’t run TTT because it starts acting weird after awhile.
It constantly needs me to restart my system
I don’t know if it’s me or if it has bugs in the program.

SurfinGuard runs like a top, I never have any problems with it.
I would like to know what kind of problems exist and why some people don’t recommend it.

Hello all,

I just downloaded and tried the new WinXP compatible version of SurfinGuard. *All it would do on my system consistently was crash and then shut down my system. *I tried to install it twice with the same results both times. *It also seemed to cause TDS-3 to freeze up. *I do not know if it is a WinXP issue or not, but the same thing happened when I did not allow TDS-3 to load. *So needless to say I did not get very far and have now uninstalled SurfinGuard from my system.

I have no problem with it running on my XP Pro system.
As a matter of fact it's running better than it ever did before.

I dislike the program tagging downloaded items.

I have XP Home. *I wonder if there could be something in it that causes my problem. *I guess it is just one of those things I never will know for sure. *It could just be some about my setup that makes SurfinGuard incompatible.

Proactive programs must be very complicated.
TTT and SurfinGuard both have their problems.

What other Proactive programs are out there?

Hello all,

Since I was having problems with SurfinGuard and WinXP Home (posted in this thread), I decided to install it one last time and try Windows Compatability Mode. *I went thru all the SurfinGuard executables and set them to Windows 2000 in compatibility mode. *I have had no problems since. *Thought this might be usefull if anyone else had problems.

Regards,
Kent
