Has anyone heard of spyware or malware that wipes internet explorer from your computer. It is not fully gone....but the icons are gone from the desktop, taskbar, and internet explorer directory.

Have you used windows update and gotten the malware removal tool ? It has been linked to removing IE you might look here (http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=62737)
