IMON won't start

Because ESET can't help me any further i ask my question here.
When i try to start IMON i get the following message.
[error occured while registering internet protection].
Only these processes are running.

So if anyone has any solution for this problem i like to here it so i start using

Welcome to the forums.

C:\Downloads\hijackthis.exe does not need to be running realtime. I would remove this from running programs.

Also, be sure any other previous antivirus programs are completely removed to prevent conflicts.

You can also try uninstalling NOD from the add/remove programs, delete the Eset directory in program files, and doing a reinstall.

Hi, RONJOR

The only AV that was on my system was NOD32 i have it running for about
2 years. 2 weeks ago i notice that IMON was no longer running so i try to start it with that error message as a result.
I also unistalled and reinstalled it, even removing the ESET directory.
The same error keeps comming back.

In the meantime, can you try the following one more time:

Download a FRESH copy of Nod32 from www.nod32.com

Uninstall your current version.

Remove the Eset Folder from C Drive> Program Files.

Clean the Registry

Install the FRESH copy of Nod32 that you downloaded above, using DEFAULT settings.

Let us know how you go…

I've just trawled through all the emails that have come to support@eset.com, support@eset.sk, support@nod32.com & support@nod32.sk in the last 2 weeks and I can't find an unresolved issue regarding IMON not starting. (We don't directly pick up email to support@eset.us).

Can you tell me where you sent the email before and can you also send it again to one of the above addresses (not the US one).

Having said that, I would follow Blackspear's good advice in the previous post first.

Hi Blackspear,

I was dealing with Mark.
I have downloaded a fresh copy of Nod32
Uninstalled the curent version
Removed the ESET folder
Cleaned the registry of all Nod32 related keys
Installed the fresh copy od Nod32.
I can not install in default mode because Imon is installed also when i try this i get error 121 so i have to install in expertmode and disable the Imon scanner.
And then we have the same problem.

I want the imon scanner to be installed but when i install in default mode the nod32 installer give me error 121 and terminate.
When i install in expertmode i can disable the imon scanner so nod32 can install without the 121 error. Then i manualy can start the imon scanner but with this error [error occured while registering internet protection]

You are using Acronis True Image, could you possibly spend a little time by going back to an image of XP only, and then install Nod32, and then 1 application at a time, until you see where the conflict is. I did the exact same thing a few months ago and found a conflict with a piece of software that I had used for quite a while.
