I just downloaded the latest virus definitions with intelligent updater, and after that i run the live update. Among the others, live update prompted that i should also update the virus definitions. I know that intelligent updater definitions are newer than these of Live update so why Live update wants to download the definitons?

At the moment they are the same: http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/defs.download.html
What does the date on your NAV console say about the latest definitions?

At the moment they might be, but what usually happens is that intelligent updater has newer definitions than live update. I don't have norton installed in this computer so i can't answer your question.

I'm well aware of that Spotlight. I try to use the intelligent updater as much as possible myself. Just bringing that up as a possible reason

I take it you're behind another computer now ???
In that case: let me know when you're at the one with Norton installed.
