After install I created the first C:drive image BUT instead of storing it on my external E: USB drive I made the mistake of creating a new F: partition were everything went into instead of the intended E:
Now I have decreased the capacity of my C: by 1/2.
I want to void/delete this F: with all its content but cannot as everything is Write Protected.
Tried to uninstall and reinstall TI but noluck.
Sugestions? help appreciated on how to restore my initial HD capacity.
thanks
David

Go to control panel, performance & management, administrative tools,
computer management, disk management..Now you should see the partitions
on your drives in the right pane..Highlight the one you want to delete, then under action select all tasks and look at options allowed on the selected partition..

hope this helps..

Bob, thank you very much, I did what you sugested, however I get a warning that because is currently in use? can only be done as a Forced Delete, and might cause unexpected errors on the shared pgms.
This does not look very encouraging.

Also the warning mentions "may be configured as a system, boot or pagefile system"
Of course that could be because it reads all the System files created as an Image but???

Create a new image of your system to your external usb drive, then delete
partition F..If you have problems, you can always restore from your saved image..I personally think it is just warning errors..

Agree
Just want to thank you for your help and time.
PS
I did an update/upgrade to TI V8 and after that the F:not longer there, and the Image was listed as C:My Backup.tib file as it should that let me delete it without problems.
Now I have my C: with the original capacity.
Weird.

Hello David.
Hello all,

Thank you for your interest in Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

As far as I understood this problem David just used the "Explore Image" function of Acronis True Image after he made an image of his C: partition. In order to delete this virtual F: drive you need to use the "Unplug Image" wizard or just reboot your computer.

Thank you.

Andrew, theQuest and Bob, again thank you very much for your help and time.
Everything is now back to normal, I ran an update/upgrade of ATI8.
Just finished my first Image of C: on external E: and is good.
On the side, another issue of interest, have to reformat my external as it was a FAT32 file vs C:NTFS.
cheers
and a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year
David
