I'm having a problem with Kerio Personal Firewall and Windows XP. The Firewall is enabled but it doesn't asks if i want that some program estabilish an internet connection. For example, today i installed Spybot S&D and then checked for updates, but kerio didn't detected an outgoing connection. In Win 98SE it works well.

I'm not familiar with Kerio, but is there a place to check and see if it has picked up your proper IP or mac address?
Does it catch any outbound traffic?

KPF works fine with XP. i would check your ruleset and make sure you dont have a rule that is letting things out. posting a screenshot of your ruleset would help.

Hello,

Would be wise to password protect your settings ;)

Well it is good you found that. One of the joys of a rule based firewall, one misconfigured rule and look out...

You might want to take some time and go through all your applications that are likely to reuqire access and create rules for them. Once you feel you have everything covered and secure, follow Jack's advice and password protect the rule set.

Personally I would have taken my brother outside and given him a slap up the side of the head with a lump of 4x2 ;D .. Doh!

[j/k mate, do as Jack and Crazy said, password it.]
