Disk Director Suite 9.0 Won't Boot

I have installed a new harddrive with XP on NTFS and four current versions of Linux, all of which are on EXT3 partitions. After going through all of this for an OS development project, I cannot get DD Suite to boot. After loading and installing the software in WinXP (I originally created the partitions using Partition Expert 2003) I loaded Disk Director 9.0. It looks fine within XP, there was unallocated space on the harddrive if needed, but after activating Boot Selector within the DD Suite and rebooting, nothing happens. It simply won't boot.

I subsequently used the old standby DOS command "FDISK/MBR" and can get right back into Windows. I have now loaded OS Selector 8.0, and everything works.

Interestingly enough, Disk Director Suite will not boot from the CD either. I simply get a message that "Acronis is loading..." and it freezes. This is the same message I get when trying to boot using the boot selector piece of DD Suite.

Nothing is unusual about the machine, an Intel D865GBF Mobo with no add-on cards driving a WD80 Gb IDE drive off the motherboard.

So what is wrong with the booting capability of Disk Director Suite 9.0?

I had the same problem with 9.0 build 518, i thought the computer is frozen (but the harddrive made some looping voice, like reading the same sector again and again or as formatting *ugh*. So after 2 reboots i had no other idea then let is "loading..." for some time .. and after several minutes the OS Selector appeared. After reboot the same procedure was necessary, so i had to deactivate it, because a boot manager should better start immediately, and I assume that is intended with OS Selector.
