I plan to change the TOS or Rules of the IPB forum where I administrate, see here (http://www.12noon.net/forum/index.php?act=idx). The current rules can be found here (http://www.12noon.net/forum/index.php?act=boardrules). What do you advise I include.

The original rules were copied from another forum by someone else before I arrived.

Any sensible advice?

Very good idea, however I don't know how much of the forum population we would loose through introducing that rule :D

The TOS of a forum must be serious and strict or else all the members will get out of control.

Try this:
You have the ability, as you register, to choose your username. We advise that you keep the name appropriate. Jimbob, I have to make a few comments about your forum's TOS.
1) It does not seem serious or strict enough.
2) Does not seem detailed enough.
3) Please re-do your TOS, I think it can be better than this.

We really only have a few basic rules...and it all works fine..but we have a great staff and an understanding BOSS.

I know but I enjoy being a little bit of a 'techy', being able to use the technical side of forums as well.

If you want something techie ... You may like to apply to TomCoyote - "Classroom" or SWI - "Bootcamp" and eventually become a HJT Expert. Trained people are in short supply/compared to victims ... and additional resources would be welcomed.
