Anyone have a motorcycle they would like to post a picture of. Here is What I ride, usually pretty fast with spurts up to 155/160. I love it. It is the only motorcycle that had a functioning turbo that actually worked. When it kicked in you better be holding on. ;D ;) It is a Yamaha.

Back in '82-'83 I was an AFM roadracer. I raced at Willow Springs and Riverside Raceway (now closed) in California. Won a couple, lost a couple. I ran open modified production class 1000cc Kawasaki (Eddie Lawson replica)

I have grown to appreaciate Harley Davidsons now. I worked at a Harley shop many years ago.

I rebuilt this bike with Baisley 93" top end (racing valves, etc) started off with branch heads - ported and polished, S&S forged pistons, andrews cam - S&S "B" carb and 2" straight drag pipes - bike was good for near 100 hp - great torque off the bottom end (low rpm) - no real need to fan the clutch for launch, just twist the wrist.

It's been sitting in my garage (in pieces) for 4 years after it was returned by police. It was stolen right out of my garage and found in someone's house a year later.

My pride and joy ~

I've ridden off-road for years and would consider myself a traitor going full street. Never quite got away from the aggressive and agile layout provided by a street legal moto-crosser. A few years back there was a company out of Europe that made a small run of 950v-twins in this style weighing approx. 270lbs, delivering 100+ ponies....NO wheelspin.....All GO! ;D
I'd estimate 0-60.......low to mid-two's. 8)

I wish for an OCC chopper!

Willow springs can be quite windy at times. There was one race day where the wind was blowing us all over the track - it was fun! My favorite corner is, I think, turn 5? - a right hand decreasing radius at the crest of the hill turning into a sharp left to the (bumpy) back straight.

I also used to dirtbike around Victorville. I had an 1981 CR450R Honda

Fun for experienced riders. But I caution new riders. Especially not to be afraid of the front brake - it will save your life. The rear brake can lead to death for newbies.

I gave a guy CPR after he crashed into the curb around a fast left hand sweeper. He hit his lower jaw on a no parking sign and bent it to the ground. He had no lower lip and his neck was broken. When ambulance showed up I yelled, "here! take over" blood was squirting all over my hands from his mouth (what was left of it) He made it to the hospital where he died.

A couple of Moons ago I had a 2nd hand 56' BSA Road Rocket (650 CC). I bought it before I had ever ridden on a bike. I received about 5 mins of instruction, then off I went. The learning curve was fast and furious. Had it for a couple of years and enjoyed every minute. I don't know who had more bruises when I gave it up, me or the bike. I will say that the skills and anticipation I developed during that time still serves me well today. I just went to my desk to retreive a Brochure for the 1958 BSA's. The 650 CC Super Rocket retailed for $1062.00. Aaah, the good ole days.

There were a lot of TURBO bikes in the 80s by Honda, Kawa, and Yamaha. Don't believe Suzuki had one. Turbos are still too slow for racing due to the turbo lag. You must have tweaked the boost cause that 750cc class Yamaha will top out in the high 130s to low 140s depending on mechanical condition. Don't rely too much on the factory speedometer to gauge your speed cause they could be off by 5 to 7% at that speed. Easiest way for the average rider to check speed is to rely on the highway distance markers.

Yamaha SR250G
Yamaha 550 Vision
Kawasaki GPz 550
Kawasaki 900R

I don't see a lot of good riders on the road anymore. In the old days, one could obtain a 125/250 for less than $800. Perfect learning bikes. Today, there are too many 1st time Harley riders with zero protection soup-bowl helmets.

That's right....don't see too many good street riders these days.

Being a good rider on the street means paying close attention to temperature (I ride throughout the year), available surface traction, and knowing how to use your best friend...."the front brake." Though there ARE times brake sliding the rear for that slight shift in direction needs to be exercised....

Offroad your less likely to be run over when a miscalculation occurs....and usually survive those mistakes. Most skilled riders have experienced sand, rocks, grass, water. They get to practice dynamic weight transfer....balance....and confidence push steering with a locked front end. Whether your sliding the rear under power, or bringing the back end around under heavy decompression....skills learned in the trails are integral to a street fighters decision making.

As the smallest and most difficult to see vehicle on the road, mentality forces me to ride as though invisible.......
the horn and rear brake light are the first items disconnected. :lurking:

Below....though a tad heavy, one of many....objects of desire.
