Hi,

Yes I do. This v and the former one too, for more than one year.

No need to edit a batch : use the environnement variables to put TEMP and TMP on it, for each user.

No need emulating a local Hard Disk if you don't use it for your pagefile.sys

My settings on WinXP Pro : 80 Mo (I have got 512)
Int Temp File : max 50 Mo on the Ramdisk too.

Jack,

I've always liked this idea. Not many use the physical ram for storage purposes, and it's a great way to browse without tracks ever touching the hard drive.

In case some already have the latest TweakXP Pro:
http://www.totalidea.de/frameset-tweakxp.htm, you may not realize you already have what you need. TweakXP Pro has what they call a "RamDisc" configurator in it and that's what I use. Like Jack said, you can put your temp, Temporary Internet Files, etc. on it and when you're finished browsing and close out - it's like it was never there. Nice proggy.

One more thing...Along this same thinking...

I have a friend who has a USB Hard Drive - one of those Thumbdisk drives that's about the size of your finger. He pops it into his front USB port, has everything point to his "K" drive (the USB ThumbDrive) and when he's through, he has a little $10 demagnetizer/Degausser he bought off of eBay and gives it a quick zap and there is NOTHING left.

He uses the thumbdrive for a lot of things. Runs his encryption program off of one of them so there's no encryption program installed at all on his system. He has a couple of 128mb and just bough a 500mb ThumbDrive, FlashDisk, whatever you want to call them. They are pretty handy. I read a column the other day saying these devises will end up replacing the floppy disk - not CDs.

Just another thought on keeping sensitive material off of your drive in the first place.

Hope it's a good Saturday!
