Could someone explain me if L'n's is able to act also like an IDS system?
If not, is there an IDS to place side by side to LNS for better inbound security ?

Hi, not so far! If you would like to see inbound attempts on, lets say a ftp or web server, then Snort or Blackice is the way to go! If you have a single workstation and don't frequently open yourself up, then you don't need one...
