This is what YahooPOPs! does. YahooPOPs! is an open-source initiative to provide POP3 access to your Yahoo! web mail account. It emulates a local POP3 server and enables popular email clients like Outlook, Netscape, Eudora, Mozilla, Calypso... to download email through it from Yahoo! accounts. Additional features include support for proxy servers, secure connections and more.
