Hi!
I've just downloaded and installed MRU Blaster 1.4 (Database 12/07/02)
When I try to run it, I see only empty (white) window with blinking title bar. CPU usage=100%

I have Windows XP Pro +SP1
MSCOMCTL.OCX ver. 6.01.9545 (from MS Office XP)
msvbvm60.dll ver. 6.00.9237 (from system installation)

No viruses (KAV 12/06/02), no spyware (Adaware 042-24-09-2002)

What’s wrong?

BTW SpywareBlaster works great!

You seem to have the correct versions of the two files you mentioned...

What version of MSSTDFMT.dll do you have? It should be 6.0.88.4.

I haven't had any other recent reports of this problem. :-\ If you could send me an e-mail at javacoolsoftware@hotmail.com with more details on your system (such as what programs you have running in the background, etc.) I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, if you get a chance, would you mind trying to run MRU-Blaster in safe mode? (And also make sure all non-system tasks are ended). If you still get the problem, I could then rule out a potential conflict with another application.

Best regards,

The most recent version of this file that I can find is 6.0.84.50.

Any idea where I can get an update?

Kent

If you aren't experiencing any problems, it might be best to leave it alone and not worry about updating to the latest version. ;) Who knows what software you might "break" by updating that file to its latest version (it SHOULDN'T break anything, but its an MS dll, so you never know).

The MRU-Blaster setup program includes the newer version of that file - but only installs it if no earlier version is present. You could rename your current version to MSSTDFMT.bak (or something similar) and run the MRU-Blaster setup to install the newer version, but again - if everything is working find I would recommend against it.

Hi Jc
MSSTDFMT.dll version was 6.0.84.50 (from MS Office XP), now is 6.0.88.4 (trick from your previous post)
Problem still exist, in safe mode too. :-(

Email with more details is on the way
