I recently supplied a teacher of mine with Zone Alarm Proffessional and he is so facinated by the people tyring to hack him, he sometimes watches it.
Do you enjoy watching your computer being hacked?

I've got better things to do.
But I must admit that I did check after I installed my first Outpost beta, long time ago.

I enjoy watching my firewall kick the trojans and hackers out non-stop.

Whenever I get an alert from my firewall I lookup who's trying to get in.
Interesting to know from where they all come. ;D
Just out of curiosity, nothing else. :)

Nothing interesting to see here.
Inbound 0 issues at all
Outbound only sometimes a popup when a prog tries to connect, which I didnt give permanent rights to do so.

I must admit, one of the first security apps that really got me hooked on internet security was a few years back when I had BlackICE, my first firewall.
I must have spent more time looking up the alerts from the logs than anything else. I kind of miss that too now that the router blocks those and Sygate is pretty quiet. But I still do check Sygate's packet logs and connections with Port Explorer from time to time, just to make sure everything that's going in and out, is suppose to be.

Oh my gosh....we do have something in common :)
[Off Topic]
Like Snap....when we got cable in Dec 2000....one of the first things I heard about was secure your box with a firewall....nothing more nothing less. Well....that little siren went off for a better part of a night. I'd run back into where PC was and holler back at my wife....They are trying to get us honey....We never should have got this Road Runner.
Well....one thing led to another....which then led me to a Forum some are familar with....BBR\DSLR....and the rest is history.
[Off Topic done]
As for now a days....Nahhhh....to much water under the bridge for me. The only interaction I have with ZAPro is the pop-up requests for outbounds and could care less about the inbounds.

Jimbob" }-I guess I did too. Because I like to watch the defrag too.
I invision a admin. assistant coming into an office saying, "these files are so out of order how on earth do you find anything. It will take me way long to pull anything and I may never find the file." She then proceeds to dump them all in the floor and reorders them as she sees fit. ;) Sorry I guess my Mom dropped me on my head. ;D

Does neotrace work with or as a firewall?

I voted no - but its not that I don't enjoy it - its more something along the lines of the fact that I dont do it to begin with.

Neotrace has nothing to do with firewalls. As the name might imply - it is used to trace an IP/user.

My firewall (Zone Alarm Pro) use to give me too many annoying little messages so I set it up so it knew exactly the rules I wanted and it doesnt annoy me any more.
