Hi Blazie, Looks like you made a right pigs ear of that ;D
Have you tried system restore?
I am sure you made a restore point before trying changes like that or a nice image back up ;)

If Restore does not help, try this absurdly long link: http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?catalog=LCID%3D1033&query=The+service+cannot+be+started%2C+either+because+it+is+disabled+or+because+it+has+no+enabled+devices+associated+with+it&x=4&y=8

Yep....if your not able to Restore back to the point just before you fubared....I suggest you attempt to go back into services while in safe mode and reset them back to default. Possibly the list you have posted of errors will then be smaller.

XP default settings for services:
Pro (http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/sys_srv_default_settings.mspx)
Home addition (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/default.asp?url=/windowsxp/home/using/productdoc/en/sys_srv_default_settings.asp)

Service settings are just registry entries. BlackViper has registry patches to reset default XP service settings: Windows XP Service Pack 1 Services Registry Files (http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/registry.htm). But I don't see a patch for SP2. To get to Safe Mode (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q315222), tap the F8 key before Windows starts to load.
