Using PE to identify app. ports

If I purchased PE, could I also use it to identify requests from applications to open ports that my firewall is blocking. As you know, many games have unique ports to enable connection either to a server or if you want to host. Tracking down this info can be somewhat tedious. So, would PE make this easier? ;)
