Can I make a suggestion without doubts? avast!

Other possibilities for free will be: AVG, for one year only eTrust (http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft) after that you must pay :(

Tech, according to your avatar, you're much too young to be out of doors this late. :)

My favorite freebie is AntiVir-PE. Get it
HERE (http://www.free-av.com/) with support forums HITHER (http://www.free-av.de/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi) and THITHER (http://www.computercops.biz/forum88.html).

I will not get picky; I do think izi provides a good link for this thread, but in my opinion anything short of 12 months of free updates is not free and that means no strings attached such as rebates. CA fits that profile there.

AVAST! Most impressive have not ever used it but a company that addresses the virus market with this kind of attitude is worth my patronage. I was reading and carefully looking at their pages. I quote from their site:

Our company offers Home Edition free of charge, since in our opinion, it is possible to avoid global virus spreading by efficient prevention; however, many user are not able or do not want to pay for antivirus software.

Admin. or Mod. Sorry if I violated terms of use by this please let me know and I will not do it again. :-\
