The latest version doesn't seem to be working for me. I tested it last week and it blocked one of the friendgreeting controls from running. Now I'm trying it on two other machines (one is XP Home and one is NT 4.0 terminal server edition) and neither are blocking the friendgreeting control from running. I've checked in the registry and the 'Compatibility Flags' entry is there and is set to 400. Here's the activex info from the friendgreeting webpage.

<OBJECT id="Object1" codeBase="pickup/card/instal1.cab#Version=1,00,0000" height="0%" hspace="0" width="0%" align="top" vspace="0" border="0" classid="clsid:A47693D1-7E2A-4DE3-9907-310C5D310B5F">

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Thomas,

Did you check if the PerMedia(1) bit is checked and killed?
I could imagine them using a new one, but this one is known and should be stopped.

Regards,

Pieter

After doing some additional checking it appears they have a new activex control and are trying to "hide" it by using frames and other html files. The new clsid is {36372A5F-1436-4A70-B808-59F6DFD36658}. The activex does not launch after I added this registry key.

These friendgreetings people are getting REALLY annoying!!!

Thanks.

Could you please provide me with a page where this new version is installed with the new CLSID? If you are uncomfortable with posting such information on the public boards, you can e-mail it to me at javacoolsoftware@hotmail.com .

TIA. :)

UPDATE: Nevermind, I have located the page - I'll have it in the next definition release. Thank you for reporting it. :)
I believe someone may have discovered people are blocking FriendGreetings in this manner...
