Mainpean Stardialer

A gentle appeal for some information and help on this dialer Mainpean Stardialer I found on my system which Spybot S&D can't get rid of.

Did some research myself, but the maual removal tips couldn't help me thusfar.
(been a.o. to CA etrust Pestpatrol Pest Encyclopedia, but the files and reg.entries they come up with, I can't find on my system.)

Too bad the "Browser Hijacks and spywareproblems"-section is closed on this forum; although a HJT-scan also didn't show any problems at first sight, I'd love to have a check-up.)

Perhaps Pieter Arntz can take a look at it -for old time sake? ::)
Or should I post my log on another security forum, and if so: any recommendations?

I'd love to hear some more experiences and info about this MainPean pest.

Thanks for your quick reply :)
Had a peek but, with opening this site you mentioned, I first got a pop-up (! my first in months!!!!) and after downloading the removal tool I discovered it to be the SpyhunterS.exe program. Is this a trusted spyware removal tool/program?

Apart from the above, this removal tool is referring to exactly the same files, registry values and processes I am not able to find on my system???

My knowledge is not up to date in this area...as said, it has been months since my latest infection of any kind.

I didn't get a popup on that site but as to SpyhunterS.exe program, i think that is a rogue...

Sorry, i hadn't clicked on the download so i didn't realize. I recommend now not to use it.

Call me a paranoid but....
one way or the other, every track to solve this 'problem' seems to lead towards PestPatrol.....hm...could this be a commercial 'trick'...?

Have a look at it later; decided first to download the highly jubilated new kid on the block GIANT antispyware free trial prog. now, and have this a go at my system. :lurking:

Hm..no catch. (False positive after all ? ???)
But GIANT looks great. And managed to find and get rid of a couple other entries the others couldn't trace.
