Win9x client fails to update

Another updating problem.

Some Win9x workstations fail to update from mirror. They insist that the version installed is current. If one copies update files from mirror to a temp directory on offending PC and tries to update from there - same problem. Other PCs on network are ok. Internet update on 'faulty' PCs is ok. Novell Server. ... am I missing something? ???
